of Korea has some problems and one of them is inequality. I agree with free competition
system of capitalistic economy and think it is the best way for all among the systems
that is devised till now. However, when it comes to education, I strongly
believe equality of opportunity should be given for students. Wealth of parents
is directly related to education level of their child and it is being repeated in
each generation. Even though all of the students receive same education in
school nominally, the gap between students from rich family and students from
poor family is too big. Most of all, the amount of information is different.
Because parents of the poor family have to concentrate on their livelihood, it
is hard for them to take care of children’s education. It is like one living on
two-dimensional world cannot imagine of three-dimensional world. Lack of
information leads them not even try to make an effort to improve their life. For
instance, even some of my friends do not know much about KMLA. Consequently,
they never thought of applying to KMLA. However children from the upper class search
are given for study of high levels right after they are born. Equality of
opportunity is not concerned in modern society. It should be provided for all
people through changing the education systems.
